01 — Starting condition

Charities don't raise money one way.

Most charity templates on the market are a generic business layout with a donate button bolted on. Real fundraising doesn't run on one mechanism: organisations need one-off campaigns people can watch progress toward a goal, and separate recurring monthly giving that isn't tied to any single cause. Add an events calendar, a blog for transparency, and more than one kind of visitor arriving with a different intent, donor, volunteer, corporate partner, and the data model a charity site actually needs looks nothing like a marketing template with a payment button added on top.

02 — Approach

Decide how giving works before the design.

Everything that changes lives in the CMS. Categories, staff, projects, events and blog posts are all structured collections, not hand-built pages, so an organisation's own team can add a campaign, a team member, or a post without touching layout.

Two donation models, not one. A project like Support Local Employment carries its own raised/goal figures and progress bar, pulled from a single CMS record and shown consistently on both the project card and its detail page. Sitting alongside that, How To Support offers fixed monthly packages (Housing, Medical, Education) for recurring givers who aren't backing one specific campaign. Most templates only build the first.

Contact is split by intent. General inquiries and partnership/institutional interest run as two separate paths rather than one catch-all form, matching how nonprofits actually get approached.

03 — What was delivered

Everything a charity needs to run on.

Two donation models run side by side: a campaign with its own visible progress bar, and a fixed monthly package for givers who aren't backing one specific cause. Six CMS collections, categories, staff, projects, events, blog and FAQs, carry everything on the site that needs to change after launch. Event pages ship with real ticket tiers and an embedded map, not just a title and a date.

04 — Outcome

Not a donate button. A system.

The template covers every surface a working nonprofit site needs: two distinct donation models, an events system with real ticketing detail, and more than one way in for supporters. It's built to be handed to an organisation and run immediately, not reshaped into something usable after the fact.
